As a matter of fact, the business cooperation and exploration carried out by Air Liquide in the field of hydrogen energy transportation in China in recent years does not stop there. In May this year, a joint venture company initiated by Air Liquide and Houpu was formally established in Chengdu. Air Liquide Houpu is committed to becoming a company that develops, manufactures and sells general hydrogenation stations at competitive prices in the hydrogen energy market. The two sides indicated that they would jointly promote the development of the hydrogen energy industry chain and the construction of hydrogenation infrastructure in China through the joint venture company.

Houpu is actively conducting business in hydrogen energy-related fields and increasing its investment in the hydrogen energy sector. By the end of the first half of 2019, it had taken out 9 patents on hydrogen energy and become the first Chinese company to break foreign monopoly of key hydrogenation components. The company now has the capability to design, develop and manufacture key components, integrate complete sets of equipment, install and test hydrogenation stations, and provide after-sales services on the entire hydrogenation industry chain.

In October this year, SINOPEC Jiashan Shantong Refueling and Hydrogenation Station, the first hydrogenation station in Zhejiang Province, was officially put into operation in Jiaxing. Air Liquide’s cutting-edge design has enabled the project, contracted out to Houpu, greatly improve the safety and reliability of hydrogenation. In addition, Air Liquide Houpu is building three hydrogenation stations for SINOPEC in Shanghai and Zhejiang.
